Gjallarhorn, the horn of Skadi

Description

The giantess Skadi is the Goddess of bowhunting, skiing,  and the wild mountains.  Wife of the sea God Nlord, and later Odin Allfather,  she was a force to be reckoned with. Her image is adapted from a bronze pendant, and shows her covered in hides, knocking an arrow on skis. The other side is her name in elder futhark runes framed by knotwork.  The rim is  hand painted knotwork on leather. It is secured with silver rivets and buckskin lace. The mouthpiece is silver and is in the style of a trumpet,  which takes some technique to sound. See pics for details and thanks for looking.
